play Prayers of Nineveh

from One For The Road - Cogton 008 - 1998

ninevah says galaxies are made from moats of dust. and the rubble that we're picking through is made from broken parts of us. "this plaster's like your heart" she says. "too hard to penetrate. and the only thing left i could do was pray so i prayed the earth would shake". "shake the mortar loose between the bricks you laid too tall. knock a couple inches off the thickness of your walls. the storms your anger started have brought down this driving rain. now all your sad resistance lies crushed beneath my pain. these pounding winds have come to force the steps you wouldn't take. the only thing left i could do was pray, so i prayed the earth would shake". i'd say the prayers of ninevah, have made it pretty clear. the things that i could live without. the things i should repair.
