bambi was out cruising one morning
just before sunrise
a truck came rolling down the highway
headlights caught her eyes
she froze in the left lane
it was clearly the driver who was to blame

bambi took it broadside from a hunter
in a camouflage ford ranger
all in all it was a very bad day
for everyone concerned
bambi was traveling with friends,
who did not much appreciate her untimely end

bambi's soul went back
into the collective bambi consciousness
but her body didn't do as well
it rolled three times and wound up in the ditch
the hunter thought he'd bagged him a prize
but he was in for a nasty surprise

when seven other bambies snuck up from behind
they pushed him and his truck over sideways
they dragged the hunter off,
he was never seen again after that day
you know that they used every part
they wasted nothing, not even his heart

they used it in a bambi transplant operation
and it took pretty well
but no matter what they did
they could not get rid of that gamey smell
