play The Other Side - Live
from Extremely Live At Eddies Attic - Cogtone 013 - 2002i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

We lost our son David Alan on January 22, 2011 and a dear friend whom we play music with at times sent me the words to this song. Thank you for writing it for all of us who have lost our babies.

I have just heard your sony Over on the other side and it is most beautiful song. My darling boy Drew crossed over on March 15th 2009 ages 17. My heart is of course broken and so is that of his twin sister and sat and cried when we heard it. We know he is over on the other side waiting for us. This song will lam sure be a comfort for every one who has lost a loved one.
Thank you Jon

hey, you probably don't remember me, but today I just found out that The Other Side was inspired by Jack and my parents.

My sister SGT. Tatjana Reed was killed in action on July 22, 2004. I came across a memorial site today and I saw the lyrics to this song. I cried and I cried. I miss her so very much. I want to thank you for making such a wonderful song.

My wife and I saw you at the first Woody Festival. She loved that experience. I lost her three years ago to cancer. Seeing you again this week-end at the Crystal Theatre was very poignant. This song is even moreso. Thank you Don for sharing your gift. You are appreciated.

We Lost our 23 yr old son and when I heard this song. I knew it was him telling me he was not dead, just on the other side and Oh how beautiful it was there.
It certainly made me feel alot better. I have told everyone about this song,. I have the whole CD. It is really great.

I heard this song for the first time right after my husband 48 yrs old died of a sudden heart attack. It was almost as if he were talking to me through you. Thank you for giving so many comfort through your song.

This song is beautiful... I will always remember the lyrics--- "Tell them all I did not die, I'm just over on the other side." This is something to put on disc...
