After recording for decades and releasing ten or more CDs I'm so happy to finally be able to release most of my catalog as downloadable MP3s. Monstrous Digital Thanks to Rachel Klein and also to the dear folks at Nimbit and my good friends at Slab (who designed and host this website). Rachel helped shepherd me through the process and did all the heavy lifting. So did dear pal Patrick Turnmire at Redrock Acoustics. There are a lot of previously unreleased tracks, demos and alternate versions of CD cuts available with this digital distribution roll out and also the remixed and re-mastered Turn Here CD/tracks which I originally released in the fall of 2009 and reworked this May of 2010. Those who have a CD from the original run (up until the first of May 2010) now havea unique, out of issue recording. In April I re-recorded the vocals on the cover of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah and on The Great Divide and we tweaked mixes and sent it to Neale Eckstein at Fox Run Studios for his mastering touches.
Four songs from the album were nominated for the New Mexico Music Awards and the song "Echo" took home the gold for the "Best Song" category. It was a sweet nod from the regional music community and I'm grateful. Nice looking award, too!

This digitally converted catalog of songs will also be available for download through iTunes and Amazon.com shortly, but I'd like to encourage you to buy downloads directly from my site if you can. They'll be iTunes compatible and I think Apple and Amazon can spare a few sales. I know I could truly stand to save the percentages they'll take to help me pay my bills and cover operating costs... costs like making more music, which I've already started to do. This events this past year have inspired me to start writing and doing more digital home recordings that can be posted to my site's Music Store as newly available MP3 downloads. I've written a couple new songs this past month including one with Ellis Paul and Sam Baker while the three of us were all at Sam's place in Austin before playing Kerrville. There are a lot of previously unreleased tracks available with this digital distribution roll out and even more to come.

Thank you all for your extraordinary support this past year or so. I owe a lot of large thank yous to so many for helping me rebuild my leg and my mouth/teeth when they both fell into ruin. Have an awesome summer and let's keep voting for a sustainable and civilized America. One that we can ALL live in with hope for a better world for ALL of us... in spite of the political corruption on both sides of the aisle in Washington and the discouraging national and local events unfolding on our TV and computer screens. Madness. I try to spend an hour or so daily in the garden and at the end of a shovel to keep myself grounded in the "real" world. And thanks to my titanium rebuilt leg... climbing up into the mountains around Taos on a mountain bike is an option for healing, too. Peace now and always to all of you. DonCon
