Picture Takers, Painters and Sculptures
Kenn Bird Photography
I met Kenn at Galileo's in Oklahoma City when I lived in the Paseo. We bacame great friends and Kenn did the cover for my Paradox of Grace CD. He does a lot of fashion photography and is incredibly inventive. I've been honored to work with him.
Jim Dirden Photography
Jim is a mainstay staff photographer at many of the major music festivals in the country. I met hiim first at the Kerrville Folk Festival and now we meet every July in Okema for the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival. He's a great friend and great fun to work with...you can tell by the amazingly intimate shots he gets of some of the most famous musicians in the country.
Tom Lee
I moved to the Paseo in Oklahoma City in the 1996 where Tom's gallery was for many years. Tom almost single handedly kept the Paseo Art District alive as it struggled in the midst of all the crack houses. He's a master, old school photo printer. He and his wonderful partner, Mary Katherine Long, host occasional concerts at the "Chouse" in Norman...a church now converted into their home. He's taken some great shots of me that I'm honored to have. There's a Tom Lee Gallery in my "Photos" section right now if you care to take a quick look.
Melissa Bugg Photography
she is incredibly creative, a great friend and a true inspiration. she's also a wild redhead and married to a great guy
Thor Harris
Thor is a brilliant painter, drummer, bicycle mechanic and more. I spent a lot of time at the Pharm in Austin, where Thor was living along with my dear friend Patrice Sullivan. Every morning for a week we'd have breakfast and then go off to our projects. About midday we'd meet back in the kitchen...I'd show him a new song and he'd show me a new painting...one of which graces the Boxes of Bones CD insert and disc which is available in the DonCon Music section.
Robert Corwin Photography
Robert is loads of fun and has some of the most amazing photos of the giants of American music.
Bareiss Gallery and Taos Art Appraisal
Taos
Phillip and Patricia have an amazing sculpture park and exhibition space. They also operate a brokerage that does art appraisals and consults with collectors to help them sell their collected works in the secondary market. Patricia paints phenomenol water colors. Check these guys out.
Bill Kropf Photography
I love Bill's sense of color and action. He has taken a lot of wonderful shots of me that you can see in the DonCon Concert Gallery in the "Photos" section of the site.
Karen Musick - MusickScapes
Karen is brilliant. I LOVE her and her work never ceases to amaze me. you have to go have a look at it.
Cynthia D Wolf
Cynthia does beautiful and mystifying image and emulsion transfers. We have collaborated on some images. To have a peek at those or just find the Collaborations Gallery link at her site.
Janet Caliri...Sight for Sound
Jaset is an amzing spirit and has such a creative approach to everything. she took some really inventive shots of my banjo that we used for my Paradox Of Grace CD. She's in California now and doing a lot of coaching.
Leigh Gusterson
I've known Leigh since my first visits to Taos. I always stayed at the Laughing Horse Inn and Leigh was working there for a time. She had several of her early works gracing the walls there for years. I love the way she captures the landscape of the area.
Dorie Hagler
Wonderful stuff...very powerful. I met Dorie through her wonderful husband Michael Shorr
MuKha
My very favorite artist and spiritual sister. She is amazing in every way. Born in the Phillipines, raised in San Francisco, currently living in both New York and France. She has been known by many names including LSM Reyes. There is a gallery of her work here at my site in the Photos Section. Look for the MuKha Gallery there.
